And that was Johannes Jacob Beam, the forefather of America's first family of bourbon. 1795 in the foothills of Western Kentucky, fed by a river named Hardin's Creek, Jacob set down roots. And there he set to building. A humble well, sturdily built. To draw water from Hardin's Creek. That water to power a mill. That mill to grind fields of corn. That corn to form Jacob's earliest mashes. Unassuming beginnings that would inspire a legacy measured in centuries. A single source from which our whiskey-making expertise has flowed from generation to generation for over 225 years. Our Booker Noe campus in Boston, Kentucky is one of a kind. Our rackhouses, spread out generously in the golden sunshine and clear air, ideal for maturation. Fine ingredients soon become fine bourbon. These unique conditions mean a faster, richer aging process that brings out the nuttiness and woodiness of the whiskey. A dark amber bourbon, full of chocolate and caramel, with high notes of vanilla and faded hazelnut. It's bold and characterful, much like Booker Noe himself. Legacy is always in the making. Born in Clermont and bottled at the grand age of 204 months. This rich amber liquid is notable for its nose of burnt sugar, palate of caramelized oak and lingering warmth to finish. It couldn't come from anywhere else; the nuanced terroir and microclimates shaped by the ridged and rolling hills. The cool wind against the shelter of the valleys. Pockets of rackhouses, close together, swathed by thick woodland, aglow year-round beneath the strong Kentucky sunlight. The unique contours of Clermont discernible in every pour. The creek bed at Frankfort campus changes things. The water rises in the warm Kentucky air to wrap the trees and the storied rackhouses in a blanket of humidity. Making everything slow. It's good for the whiskey. It ages at its own pac e, with little ventilation and a lot of time. Giving the whiskey a delicate, floral flavor, with a finish of aged oak.
