In 2010, Parker Beam, 6th generation Master Distiller at Heaven Hill Distillery was diagnosed with ALS. The diagnosis did not stop him from doing his job, as every day he continued to make whiskey and taste barrels to ensure they received his stamp of approval. In 2017, after a seven year battle with ALS, Parker passed away. Today, we honor Parker's legacy through this edition, by showcasing what Parker felt was one of his greatest achievements throughout his more than 50 years of distilling experience -- the introduction of Heaven Hill's single barrel Bourbons. Aged for 11 years in Parker's favorite rickhouse location, Deatsville, these barrels are what Parker would have described as "just good Bourbon." A portion of proceeds will continue to support ALS research and patient care in honor of Parker Beam.
