Product Description

When we say “High Rye,” we mean it. At 36% rye content, it’s significantly higher than comparable bourbons, resulting in a unique combination of flavors: subtly sweet but punctuated by rich notes of rye spice. If you’re looking for a bold bourbon, you’ve found it. A mash of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% barley, aged in new charred oak barrels. Nose: Light vanilla, red berry fruitiness and a slight hint of oak Palate: Spicy, woody and minty notes. Fennel-like notes of light licorice and black pepper from the rye Finish: Long and smooth with a nice spice from the high rye content

Whisky Advocate · David Fleming · 2020
An oak-driven palate has lots of heat and integrated spice, but is also loaded with chocolate, coffee beans, almonds, and maple syrup. … Lots of assertive flavors, but with a gentle, smooth texture.

It's fresh, youthful, and brisk, with sweet corn, bright fruit, brittle mint, cinnamon, and a dusting of cocoa, leading to a slightly aggressive finish. A bit too youthful, actually, for sipping—it would benefit from a few more years' aging.
