Product Description
Chicken Cock Whiskey founder James A. Miller loved his beautiful roosters and his exceptional whiskey such that it led him to name his whiskey "Chicken Cock." This Fourth Edition of Chicken Cock's limited annual tin release looked east to Japan for inspiration, just as a rooster looks east to greet each new dawn. Chicken Cock honors Miller's love of roosters and whiskey by taking inspiration from the Onagadori rooster and finishing in Japanese Mizunara oak. The Onagadori rooster is not only stunning but also incredibly rare, with its distinctive long tail. Similarly, Mizunara oak is renowned for its rarity and difficulty coopering, takin gup to two centuries to mature before it can be used to make the whiskey barrels. It's likely the Mizunara oak trees used to finish this whiskey were growing back in 1856 when Miller started Chicken Cock. Chicken Cock Whiskey's Mizunara is our award-winning Kentucky Straight Bourbon, enhanced by the distinctive character of first use Mizunara Japanese oak for finishing. This unique and rare type of oak imparts layers of complex flavor notes like sandalwood, grahm cracker, butterscotch, and baking spice. Limited to only 10 barrels of total production.
