For a warm and comforting sipper on a chilly evening, this is a fine way to go. This honey-hued Bourbon has a big, powerful, sweet caramel aroma, and a rich mix of buttery, oaky and toasty flavors.
On the palate, it's lightly sweet at first, showing creamy caramel, but finishes dry, with touches of espresso, oak and baking chocolate. Overall, a bold, flavorful sipper.
The classic Woodford flavors are there - bing cherry, pumpernickel, vanilla, caramel, leather and sweet spice. … Very rich and complex. If anything, this tastes like classic Woodford, but more spruced up. In a good way.
More sweetness on the palate, which is rich with cocoa powder, chocolate-covered cherries, cherry cola, and more marshmallow. Toasted oak, cinnamon spice, and black cherry are prominent on the finish, which isn’t the longest but is certainly decadent and tasty.
More visceral than the standard Woodford Reserve, with a darker personality, extra wood spice, and a nice sweet foundation. Notes of cinnamon stick, dark berried fruit, roasted nuts, caramel, creamy vanilla, and polished leather.
